A Peaceful Start

Michael

We went to see your wonderful photographs at the Orcas Center yesterday, they are truly beautiful. You are an important piece of the jig saw puzzle of talented artists that when assembled with all of the other pieces enriches all of our lives here on Orcas

I just want to commend you on a stunning exhibition. I believe you succeeded in communicating your meanings and content - the whole presentation is elegant and strong, but the individual pieces are also allowed to stand on their own. The poems help to slow the viewer down to perceive your "frame of attention." Very beautifully done, my friend.

I would like to thank all who attended last Friday's opening reception, (over 200 strong) in support of my photographic exhibition "Invincible Summer".  Your attendance and incredible response made the opening a monumental success.  I couldn't have dreamed of a finer opening, from the presentation of the work to the family-like atmosphere and food and flowers (sent and brought in by my Orcas Family/Community).  Everyone seemed to have a really great time interacting with each other and the art.  The experience exceeded all of my dreams and expectations.

I offer my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your support and participation in this month's art exhibition at the Orcas Center, on Beautiful Orcas Island.  I would also like to thank the Visual Arts Committee of the Orcas Center for this incredible opportunity to present this body of work.

Please enjoy the exhibition, which will hang throughout the month of August and through the Labor Day weekend, and offer your comments in the guest book which resides in the lobby of the Center.

Enjoy the Summer and thanks again.
